Age: Old (31)
Contact: HyprKnux1 (AIM), [Bad username or site: ”AshBlaze” @ ”plurk.com”]
Characters Played: Nozomi Yumehara (Mayfield AU), Sasami Masaki Jurai (Mayfield AU), Derpy Hooves (SN), Q (OU)
IN CHARACTER INFORMATION
Name: Tsubomi Hanasaki/Cure Blossom
Canon: Heartcatch Pretty Cure!
OU/AU/OC: OU
Canon Point: After episode 3
History: http://prettycure.wikia.com/wiki/Hanasaki_Tsubomi
Personality: Most pink-type Pretty Cures fall under one of three categories (usually two at a time): energetic, athletic or tomboyish. Tsubomi has the distinction of not being any of those: she barely has the strength for athletic things, she’s timid and reclusive and she’s as girly-girly as you can get. Tsubomi would rather hide behind the flowers she could rattle off names of and what they mean in the Language of Flowers than get involved in anything exciting. In fact, Tsubomi seems (at least early on) to actively hate being energetic and being around energetic people - she blew up at Erika Kurumi/Cure Marine when she forced her into a makeover she didn’t really want and her being so forceful and energetic set her off. She’d probably get off on the wrong foot with the Pinkie Pies. Tsubomi also has a major case of insignificant feelings towards herself. As a civilian, this is a lot to have to do with her massively damaged self-esteem. As a Pretty Cure, it’s the legacies she’s following - that of her grandmother, Kaoruko/Cure Flower, and that of her predecessor, Yuri Tsukikage/Cure Moonlight. This is also extended towards the past Cures and their teams.
A lot of Tsubomi’s faults is due to a crappy life - with her parents always away on business trips, she was stuck living with Kaoruko, but she never wanted to tell anyone she was lonely until she finally snapped and suffered an emotional breakdown prior to the start of the canon. Without the presence of her parents, she found herself incredibly introverted and withdrawn.
This is not to say that Tsubomi does not want to change. Far from it. Tsubomi’s entire storyline is about her growth from the timid young girl into a capable and powerful warrior and a great friend. Tsubomi’s biggest strength, one that many see as a weakness, is her ability to lean on and draw on the strength of her friends. As someone who spent their entire life alone, Tsubomi knows that feeling and doesn’t want to have anyone suffer that anymore. Perhaps because of it, she was able to draw in the aforementioned Erika and Yuri, but also Itsuki Myoudouin/Cure Sunshine, all three with great insecurities about themselves and their actions finally breaking free of that pain.
Probably an easier way of seeing this is that Tsubomi is like Fluttershy, except she starts developing a backbone much quicker.
As a Pretty Cure, Tsubomi, or rather Cure Blossom, is… really the same. Unlike other Cures such as Cure Dream and Cure Muse, Cure Blossom has a plethora of attacks on top her the usual superhuman strength, agility and stamina. With her Blossom Tact, she can fire out the purifying attack “Pink Forte Wave” and, with another Heartcatch-type, can perform the flying tackling attack “Floral Power Fortissimo”. There’s just one humongous problem - as Tsubomi has crappy self-esteem, her powers fluctuate badly, leading her to be christened “The Weakest Pretty Cure in History”.
When she fights, she tends to hold back as the monsters in her world are humans transformed into monsters, driven by a great sadness within them. At most, she just wants to talk them down, get them to realize their problems and let them know they’re not alone. However, when pushed to her limits, she will drop the act and signals that with her angry roar of “I’ve had enough!” and will fight to the best of her abilities. However, Tsubomi does have a good understanding of fighting to protecting and fighting out of sheer rage and she refuses to let anyone dive that far down.
Strengths: - Kind
Caring
Knowledgeable about flowers
Desire to learn about anything and grow out of her shell
Weaknesses: - Not used to high-energy situations or people
Fluctuating power levels as a Pretty Cure
Incredibly shy
Just not energetic
Something of a pacifist
Possessions: Her glasses: Tsubomi’s near-sighted and while she’s usually seen wearing contacts (no, seriously), they wouldn’t work here, so she’d be running around in her big-framed glasses
Heart Perfume: Tsubomi’s transformation device. It plus the Pretty Cure Seed allows her to transform into Cure Blossom
Chypre: Tsubomi’s fairy partner. Due to the effects of the game, she’ll be changing into a bunny, carrying Tsubomi’s Pretty Cure Seed with her.
Pony/Animal Type: Earth pony
Cutie Mark: A bouquet of flowers (Ha! Thought you were expecting one of the Precure symbols, weren’t you?

First Person: [The scrolls kick on and there’s a white pony with a pink mane done up in twintails who looks absolutely PANICKED. She knows she doesn’t belong here and she’s just absolutely lost! She adjusts her glasses before she speaks.]
I-I hope someone can answer me, because I don’t know where I am and why I’m here and why I look like a pony! Oh, g-grandma and Erika’s gonna be so worried, not to mention mom and dad! Oh, what have I gotten into?! I wanna go home!
[Before she can break into tears, a bunny hops into view with what looks like a tiny red medallion of sorts arounds her neck. She starts waving its paws around, looking like its trying to cheer up the pony in front of her and it seems to be working.]
Th-thank you…! [she turns back to the scroll itself] P-Please, i-if anyone can help me figure out everything, I would greatly appreciate it…!
Third Person: Here (I know it says she’s a game import, but she was pretty much the same in DDD)
